Events - Sir Alec Guinness Award – Students’ Evening (PRIVATE EVENT)

The Students’ Evening is held annually at the CAA (Club for Acts and Actors). A panel comprising a director, producer, casting agent, actor, representative from Equity and Spotlight hold a question and answer session for the benefit of final year students from accredited drama schools. They discuss and give advice on a variety of topics, including getting an agent, leaving drama school, keeping well informed, preparing for an audition, etc.

All information is sent to accredited Drama Schools. Final year students (only) are invited to demonstrate in a written application why they consider they are worthy of the Sir Alec Guinness Award, which will also be presented during the evening. The award comprises:

  • membership of the Actors Centre for one year,
  • membership of Equity for one year,
  • vouchers for classes at the Actors Centre for one year,
  • an entry in Spotlight (sponsored by Spotlight),
  • copies of The Stage Newspaper (sponsored by The Stage), also for one year,
  • membership of the Actors Centre (sponsored by the Actors Centre),
